His hand is never cut short.(Numbers 11:18&21-24&31) We can always have confidence that God has power to accomplish his will. We do not need to fear, as God can use his power against the wicked with precision beyond the comprehension of men, without harm to even a single righteous person. (Luke 12:6-7) As a Bible example: Hezekiah, the king of ancient Judah of Israel was under attack by King Sennacherib and his Assyrian nation. The king of Assyria taunted Hezekiah and the other Jews, making fun of them for placing their faith in the God of Israel. He had seen other nations put faith in their useless Gods. "What God of the nations has proved able to deliver their people out of my hand," the haughty king asked. He likened the true God יהוה to the false god's of all the nations. By his words the King of Assyria was taunting not just King Hezekiah and his nation; He was taunting their God, who was listening. He was asserting the Creator, the one true God (Psalms 83:18) of all, was like the gods who are the fabrications of men. (Acts 17:29; See also Acts 17:22-31.)
The Assyrian king had a large army, possibly 500,000 or more. Those who were his mighty men, and army leaders, would have been men who understood what was happening; men who were faithful and loyal followers of the king. Much of his regular army, on the other hand, were likely conscripted and forced to be there under fear of death. So, sent his angle and killed 185,000 men, but not all... All the mighty men and the head ones of the king's military force were killed, so the king "returned with shame of face to his land." (2 Chronicles 32:21) What happened likely caused the king to fear God as he had never done before. Rather than humble himself and give glory to the true God , however, he turned to some of the false gods he had previously made fun of. Back in his homeland, as he went to the house of his false god, one of his own sons put him to death. Because the Jews put their trust in , they did not have to fret or worry. Just as had said, Sennacherib's army did not shoot a single arrow into the city. (2 Kings 19:32) Likewise today, we don't ever have to worry whether has the power to accomplish his purpose, or to protect the righteous as he does so, even as he finally must put every single unrepentant wicked person to death.
