2 Samuel 7:12-16 GW . . ."'When the time comes for you to lie down in death with your ancestors, I will send one of your descendants, one who will come from you. I will establish his kingdom. (13) He will build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. (14) I will be his Father, and he will be my Son. If he sins, I will punish him with a rod and with blows inflicted by people. (15) But I will never stop showing him my love as I did to Saul, whom I took out of your way. (16) Your royal house will remain in my presence forever. Your throne will be established forever.'"
2 Samuel 7:12-16 GNB . . .When you die and are buried with your ancestors, I will make one of your sons king and will keep his kingdom strong. (13) He will be the one to build a temple for me, and I will make sure that his dynasty continues forever. (14) I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him as a father punishes his son. (15) But I will not withdraw my support from him as I did from Saul, whom I removed so that you could be king. (16) You will always have descendants, and I will make your kingdom last forever. Your dynasty will never end.' "
2 Samuel 7:12-16 ESV . . .When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. (13) He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. (14) I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. When he commits iniquity, I will discipline him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men, (15) but my steadfast love will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before you. (16) And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me. Your throne shall be established forever.'"
2 Samuel 7:12-16 CEV . . .I'll choose one of your sons to be king when you reach the end of your life and are buried in the tomb of your ancestors. I'll make him a strong ruler, (13) and no one will be able to take his kingdom away from him. He will be the one to build a temple for me. (14) I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I'll see that he is corrected, just as children are corrected by their parents. (15) But I will never put an end to my agreement with him, as I put an end to my agreement with Saul, who was king before you. (16) I will make sure that one of your descendants will always be king.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
