Daniel 8:19-26 GW . . .He said, "I will tell you what will happen in the last days, the time of God's anger, because the end time has been determined. (20) "The two-horned ram that you saw represents the kingdoms of Media and Persia. (21) The hairy male goat is the kingdom of Greece, and the large horn between its eyes is its first king. [Alexander the Great] (22) The horn broke off, and four horns replaced it. Four kingdoms will come out of that nation, but they won't be as strong as the first king was. (23) "In the last days of those kingdoms, when rebellions are finished [and they are about to be destroyed], a stern-looking king who understands mysterious things will rise to power.*1 (24) He will become very strong, but not by his own strength.*2 He will cause astounding destruction and will be successful in everything he does. He will destroy those who are powerful along with some holy people.*3 (25)

These Bible prophecies of earth's last wicked king are centuries old... Most of the artwork is public domain and decades old. If you see the likeness of someone, you should consider if making him known is God's work! (Dan 7:7-8; Dan 7:20-27; Rev 13:3)
He will cleverly use his power to deceive others successfully. He will consider himself to be great and destroy many people when they don't expect it. He will oppose the Commander of Commanders, but he will be defeated, though not by any human power. (26) The vision about the 2,300 evenings and mornings that was explained to you is true. Seal the vision, because it is about things that will happen in the distant future."
*1 [Note: As this world becomes more and more wicked, it will or has reached a point where no good person can any longer be produced; like it was in Noah's day. (Gen 6:5-8; 1 Cor 15:33; 2 Pet 2:7-8 of 5-9) At that time, the only solution left is for this old world system to be destroyed. (2 Pet 3:9-13; Rev 21:1-4)]
*2 [Note: The fact this last wicked king grows powerful, but not in his own strength or power, might indicate his support comes from wicked gang or even national leaders, people who support him because they see him as someone they can easily bribe and/or manipulate; and who will not condemn their own badness. (Pro 1:10-19) It might indicate his support by demons.
Last Wicked King,
Supported by Demons?
Remember, though, "all" we can know about him, or watch to spot about earth's last and most vile King, is what the Bible records for us Daniel (and the other prophets) said about him over 20 centuries ago: They prophesied this king will be "proud, arrogant, stubborn, vicious, wicked and deceitful." Sadly, we all know many politicians who have or have had those qualities. But, since the Bible specifically draws attention to this last King of the earth, he must surely excel at badness like none before; as one Bible translation words it, "in a wonderful way he will cause ruin"... His attack against righteous people, against people of integrity and the very idea of integrity, is an attack against יהוה. (Zec 2:8-9)]

*3 [Note: The New World Translation conveys that what Daniel actually said in the original Hebrew text of Daniel 8:24 was: "In a wonderful way he will cause ruin." This verse may mean he will be saying his actions are "wonderful" while the Bible says he actually brings only chaos; harm and/or death to many. Remember as you consider: That is not what "I" am saying about him; [don't shoot the messenger] that is what God prophesied thousands of years ago. Don't you despair about the badness of this world! Take joy from the words of the God who gave you this marvelous wisdom through his prophetic view onto our future! Listen to Jesus Christ (Mat 17:5) and have eyes of faith to see; (2 Kings 6:15-17; Mat 21:21-22; Mark 11:24) your deliverance has arrived with the pending destruction of that wicked king, who is likely among us even now. Just as promised in Dan 8:25: You are making the evening sacrifice to God by your expression of faith in what He sent Jesus to teach YOU! (Mal 3:16-4:3)]
Do these Bible verses or this artist's rendering of the final king of Bible prophecy remind you of any of the world rulers you see on stage during these end times? If their antics weren't so deadly, they would be comical... Seeing them gather and strut around rattling their nuclear sabers like a bunch of ignorant school boys. This vision was given Daniel a little over 2500 years ago. Righteously inclined people are listening to Christ and thus have opportunity and freedom freedom to choose the life they want. (John 8:31-32) Those judged wicked by God are stupid. They are left to die in their sins. (John 8:23-24) Sometimes, wicked people are used like marionettes on strings, just as this last wicked king of Daniels vision seems to be: These scriptures make him seem lost to God by having chosen badness, but even if wicked, he is still being manipulated by God to bring about the end of this whole wicked world system. (1 John 5:19-21; Dan 2:44; Mat 6:9-10; Isa 60:22) But, be careful you don't try to judge before a thing unfolds. (1 Cor 4:5; Rom 12:19) Having the same choice as everyone; this king, wicked in his actions, might be only ignorant and still yet accept Christ and change... Or, maybe these scriptures just mean he will be caught in the sudden Angelic destruction of all the wicked at Armageddon. (1 Thes 5:1-5) All we know is what the Bible tells us: He [or his wickedness] will be broken or destroyed without human hand. In any case, if this scriptural description of the last wicked king reminds you of someone, you can know personally if it is him simply by watching to see what becomes of him. Avoid being swept away in the destruction of the wicked. This prophecy will be fulfilled. Not because I say it; because God's word said so some 2600 years ago!

Daniel 8:19-26 CEV . . .and said: Listen, and I will tell you what will happen at the end of time, when God has chosen to show his anger. (20) The two horns of the ram are the kings of Media and Persia, (21) the goat is the kingdom of Greece, and the powerful horn between his eyes is the first of its kings. [Alexander the Great] (22) After this horn is broken, four other kingdoms will appear, but they won't be as strong. (23) When these rulers have become as evil as possible, their power will end, and then a king who is dangerous and cannot be trusted will appear. (24) He will gain strength, but not on his own, and he will cause terrible destruction. He will wipe out powerful leaders and God's people as well. (25) His deceitful lies will make him so successful, that he will think he is really great. Suddenly he will kill many people, and he will even attack God, the Supreme Ruler. But God will crush him! (26) This vision about the evenings and mornings is true, but these things won't happen for a long time, so don't tell it to others.

Daniel 8:19-26 GNB . . .and said, "I am showing you what the result of God's anger will be. The vision refers to the time of the end. (20) "The ram you saw that had two horns represents the kingdoms of Media and Persia. (21) The goat represents the kingdom of Greece, and the prominent horn between his eyes is the first king. [Alexander the Great] (22) The four horns that came up when the first horn was broken represent the four kingdoms into which that nation will be divided and which will not be as strong as the first kingdom. (23) "When the end of those kingdoms is near and they have become so wicked that they must be punished, there will be a stubborn, vicious, and deceitful king. (24) He will grow strong---but not by his own power. He will cause terrible destruction and be successful in everything he does. He will bring destruction on powerful men and on God's own people. (25) Because he is cunning, he will succeed in his deceitful ways. He will be proud of himself and destroy many people without warning. He will even defy the greatest King of all, but he will be destroyed without the use of any human power. (26) This vision about the evening and morning sacrifices which has been explained to you will come true. But keep it secret now, because it will be a long time before it does come true."

Daniel 8:19-26 ESV . . .He said, "Behold, I will make known to you what shall be at the latter end of the indignation, for it refers to the appointed time of the end. (20) As for the ram that you saw with the two horns, these are the kings of Media and Persia. (21) And the goat is the king of Greece. And the great horn between his eyes is the first king. [Alexander the Great] (22) As for the horn that was broken, in place of which four others arose, four kingdoms shall arise from his nation, but not with his power. (23) And at the latter end of their kingdom, when the transgressors have reached their limit, a king of bold face, one who understands riddles, shall arise. (24) His power shall be great--but not by his own power; and he shall cause fearful destruction and shall succeed in what he does, and destroy mighty men and the people who are the saints. (25) By his cunning he shall make deceit prosper under his hand, and in his own mind he shall become great. Without warning he shall destroy many. And he shall even rise up against the Prince of princes, and he shall be broken--but by no human hand. (26) The vision of the evenings and the mornings that has been told is true, but seal up the vision, for it refers to many days from now."

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
