You should know God's name is   יהוה . That's the Hebrew Name He provided mankind in the original language of the Old Testament. You will note some of the translations I quote use "LORD" to represent   יהוה   while others use the attempted English translations of "Jehovah" or "Yahweh" to replace the true Hebrew name of God. Genesis 6:5-8:17 GW The LORD  ( יהוה ) saw how evil humans had become on the earth. All day long their deepest thoughts were nothing but evil. (6) The LORD  ( יהוה ) was sorry that he had made humans on the earth, and he was heartbroken. (7) So he said, "I will wipe off the face of the earth these humans that I created. I will wipe out not only humans, but also domestic animals, crawling animals, and birds. I'm sorry that I made them." (8) But the LORD  ( יהוה ) was pleased with Noah. (9) This is the account of Noah and his descendants. Noah had God's approval and was a man of integrity among the people of his time. He walked with God. (10) He had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. (11) The world was corrupt in God's sight and full of violence. (12) God saw the world and how corrupt it was because all people on earth lived evil lives. (13) God said to Noah, "I have decided to put an end to all people because the earth is full of their violence. Now I'm going to destroy them along with the earth. (14) Make yourself a ship (an ark - a ship normally has a pointed bow, the ark did not) of cypress wood. Make rooms in the ship and coat it inside and out with tar. (15) This is how you should build it: the ship is to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. (16) Make a roof for the ship, and leave an 18-inch-high opening at the top. Put a door in the side of the ship. Build the ship with lower, middle, and upper decks. (17) I'm about to send a flood on the earth to destroy all people under the sky-every living, breathing human. Everything on earth will die. (18) "But I will make my promise to you. You, your sons, your wife, and your sons' wives will go into the ship. (19) Bring two of every living creature into the ship in order to keep them alive with you. They must be male and female. (20) Two of every type of bird, every type of domestic animal, and every type of creature that crawls on the ground will come to you to be kept alive. (21) Take every kind of food that can be eaten and store it. It will be food for you and the animals." (22) Noah did this. He did everything that God had commanded him.
Genesis 7:1-24 GW The LORD  ( יהוה ) said to Noah, "Go into the ship with your whole family because I have seen that you alone are righteous among the people of today. (2) Take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal (a male and a female of each) and one pair of every kind of unclean animal (a male and a female). (3) Also, take seven pairs of every kind of bird (a male and a female of each) to preserve animal life all over the earth after the flood. (4) In seven days I will send rain to the earth for 40 days and 40 nights. I will wipe off the face of the earth every living creature that I have made." (5) So Noah did everything that the LORD  ( יהוה ) commanded him. (6) Noah was 600 years old when the flood came to the earth. (7) Noah, his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives went into the ship to escape the floodwaters. (8) Clean and unclean animals, birds, and creatures that crawl on the ground (9) came to Noah to go into the ship in pairs (a male and female of each) as God had commanded Noah. (10) Seven days later the flood came on the earth. (11) On the seventeenth day of the second month of the six hundredth year of Noah's life, all the deep springs burst open. The sky opened, (12) and rain came pouring down on the earth for 40 days and 40 nights. (13) On that same day Noah and his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, as well as Noah's wife and his three daughters-in-law went into the ship. (14) They had with them every type of wild animal, every type of domestic animal, every type of creature that crawls on the earth, and every type of bird (every creature with wings). (15) A pair of every living, breathing animal came to Noah to go into the ship. (16) A male and a female of every animal went in as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD  ( יהוה ) closed the door behind them. (17) The flood continued for 40 days on the earth. The water increased and lifted the ship so that it rose high above the ground. (18) As the water rose and became very deep, the ship floated on top of the water. (19) The water rose very high above the earth. It covered all the high mountains everywhere under the sky. (20) It rose 23 feet above the mountaintops. (21) Every creature that crawls on the earth died, including birds, domestic and wild animals, and everything that swarms over the earth, along with every human. (22) Everything on dry land (every living, breathing creature) died. (23) Every living creature on the face of the earth was wiped out. Humans, domestic animals, crawling creatures, and birds were wiped off the earth. Only Noah and those with him in the ship were left. (24) The floodwaters were on the earth for 150 days.
Genesis 8:1-17 GW God remembered Noah and all the wild and domestic animals with him in the ship. So God made a wind blow over the earth, and the water started to go down. (2) The deep springs and the sky had been shut, and the rain had stopped pouring. (3) The water began to recede from the land. At the end of 150 days the water had decreased. (4) On the seventeenth day of the seventh month, the ship came to rest in the mountains of Ararat. (5) The water kept decreasing until the tenth month. On the first day of the tenth month, the tops of the mountains appeared. (6) After 40 more days Noah opened the window he had made in the ship (7) and sent out a raven. It kept flying back and forth until the water on the land had dried up. (8) Next, he sent out a dove to see if the water was gone from the surface of the ground. (9) The dove couldn't find a place to land because the water was still all over the earth. So it came back to Noah in the ship. He reached out and brought the dove back into the ship. (10) He waited seven more days and again sent the dove out of the ship. (11) The dove came to him in the evening, and in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf. Then Noah knew that the water was gone from the earth. (12) He waited seven more days and sent out the dove again, but it never came back to him. (13) By the first day of the first month of Noah's six hundred and first year, the water on the land had dried up. Noah opened the top of the ship, looked out, and saw the surface of the ground. (14) By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the land was dry. (15) Then God spoke to Noah, (16) "Come out of the ship with your wife, your sons, and your sons' wives. (17) Bring out every animal that's with you: birds, domestic animals, and every creature that crawls on the earth. Be fertile, increase in number, and spread over the earth."
Genesis 6:5-8:17 NWT Consequently Jehovah  ( יהוה ) saw that the badness of man was abundant in the earth and every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only bad all the time. 6 And Jehovah  ( יהוה ) felt regrets that he had made men in the earth, and he felt hurt at his heart. 7 So Jehovah  ( יהוה ) said: “I am going to wipe men whom I have created off the surface of the ground, from man to domestic animal, to moving animal and to flying creature of the heavens, because I do regret that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of Jehovah  ( יהוה ). 9 This is the history of Noah. Noah was a righteous man. He proved himself faultless among his contemporaries. Noah walked with the [true] God. 10 In time Noah became father to three sons, Shem, Ham and Ja´pheth. 11 And the earth came to be ruined in the sight of the [true] God and the earth became filled with violence. 12 So God saw the earth and, look! it was ruined, because all flesh had ruined its way on the earth. 13 After that God said to Noah: “The end of all flesh has come before me, because the earth is full of violence as a result of them; and here I am bringing them to ruin together with the earth. 14 Make for yourself an ark out of wood of a resinous tree. You will make compartments in the ark, and you must cover it inside and outside with tar. 15 And this is how you will make it: three hundred cubits the length of the ark, fifty cubits its width, and thirty cubits its height. 16 You will make a tso´har [roof; or, window] for the ark, and you will complete it to the extent of a cubit upward, and the entrance of the ark you will put in its side; you will make it with a lower [story], a second [story] and a third [story]. 17 “And as for me, here I am bringing the deluge of waters upon the earth to bring to ruin all flesh in which the force of life is active from under the heavens. Everything that is in the earth will expire. 18 And I do establish my covenant with you; and you must go into the ark, you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you. 19 And of every living creature of every sort of flesh, two of each, you will bring into the ark to preserve them alive with you. Male and female they will be. 20 Of the flying creatures according to their kinds and of the domestic animals according to their kinds, of all moving animals of the ground according to their kinds, two of each will go in there to you to preserve them alive. 21 And as for you, take for yourself every sort of food that is eaten; and you must gather it to yourself, and it must serve as food for you and for them.” 22 And Noah proceeded to do according to all that God had commanded him. He did just so. 7 After that Jehovah  ( יהוה ) said to Noah: “Go, you and all your household, into the ark, because you are the one I have seen to be righteous before me among this generation. 2 Of every clean beast you must take to yourself by sevens, the sire and its mate; and of every beast that is not clean just two, the sire and its mate; 3 also of the flying creatures of the heavens by sevens, male and female, to preserve offspring alive on the surface of the entire earth. 4 For in just seven days more I am making it rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and I will wipe every existing thing that I have made off the surface of the ground.” 5 And Noah proceeded to do according to all that Jehovah  ( יהוה ) had commanded him. 6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the deluge of waters occurred on the earth. 7 So Noah went in, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark ahead of the waters of the deluge. 8 Of every clean beast and of every beast that is not clean and of the flying creatures and everything that moves on the ground, 9 they went in by twos to Noah inside the ark, male and female, just as God had commanded Noah. 10 And seven days later it turned out that the waters of the deluge came upon the earth. 11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on this day all the springs of the vast watery deep were broken open and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. 12 And the downpour upon the earth went on for forty days and forty nights. 13 On this very day Noah went in, and Shem and Ham and Ja´pheth, Noah’s sons, and the wife of Noah and the three wives of his sons with him, into the ark; 14 they and every wild beast according to its kind, and every domestic animal according to its kind, and every moving animal that moves on the earth according to its kind, and every flying creature according to its kind, every bird, every winged creature. 15 And they kept going to Noah inside the ark, two by two, of every sort of flesh in which the force of life was active. 16 And those going in, male and female of every sort of flesh, went in, just as God had commanded him. After that Jehovah  ( יהוה ) shut the door behind him. 17 And the deluge went on for forty days upon the earth, and the waters kept increasing and began carrying the ark and it was floating high above the earth. 18 And the waters became overwhelming and kept increasing greatly upon the earth, but the ark kept going on the surface of the waters. 19 And the waters overwhelmed the earth so greatly that all the tall mountains that were under the whole heavens came to be covered. 20 Up to fifteen cubits the waters overwhelmed them and the mountains became covered. 21 So all flesh that was moving upon the earth expired, among the flying creatures and among the domestic animals and among the wild beasts and among all the swarms that were swarming upon the earth, and all mankind. 22 Everything in which the breath of the force of life was active in its nostrils, namely, all that were on the dry ground, died. 23 Thus he wiped out every existing thing that was on the surface of the ground, from man to beast, to moving animal and to flying creature of the heavens, and they were wiped off the earth; and only Noah and those who were with him in the ark kept on surviving. 24 And the waters continued overwhelming the earth a hundred and fifty days. 8 After that God remembered Noah and every wild beast and every domestic animal that was with him in the ark, and God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters began to subside. 2 And the springs of the watery deep and the floodgates of the heavens became stopped up, and so the downpour from the heavens was restrained. 3 And the waters began receding from off the earth, progressively receding; and at the end of a hundred and fifty days the waters were lacking. 4 And in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ar´a·rat. 5 And the waters kept on progressively lessening until the tenth month. In the tenth month, on the first of the month, the tops of the mountains appeared. 6 So it occurred that at the end of forty days Noah proceeded to open the window of the ark that he had made. 7 After that he sent out a raven, and it continued flying outdoors, going and returning, until the waters dried off the earth. 8 Later he sent out from him a dove to see whether the waters had abated from the surface of the ground. 9 And the dove did not find any resting-place for the sole of its foot, and so it returned to him into the ark because the waters were yet upon the surface of the whole earth. At that he put his hand out and took it and brought it to himself inside the ark. 10 And he went on waiting still another seven days, and once again he sent out the dove from the ark. 11 Later on the dove came to him about the time of evening and, look! there was an olive leaf freshly plucked in its bill, and so Noah got to know that the waters had abated from the earth. 12 And he went on waiting still another seven days. Then he sent out the dove, but it did not come back again to him anymore. 13 Now in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, on the first day of the month, it came about that the waters had drained from off the earth; and Noah proceeded to remove the covering of the ark and to look, and here the surface of the ground had drained dry. 14 And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth had dried off. 15 God now spoke to Noah, saying: 16 “Go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons’ wives with you. 17 Every living creature that is with you of every sort of flesh, among the flying creatures and among the beasts and among all the moving animals that move upon the earth, bring out with you, as they must swarm in the earth and be fruitful and become many upon the earth.”
Genesis 6:5-8:17 GNB When the LORD  ( יהוה ) saw how wicked everyone on earth was and how evil their thoughts were all the time, (6) he was sorry that he had ever made them and put them on the earth. He was so filled with regret (7) that he said, "I will wipe out these people I have created, and also the animals and the birds, because I am sorry that I made any of them." (8) But the LORD  ( יהוה ) was pleased with Noah. (9) This is the story of Noah. He had three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Noah had no faults and was the only good man of his time. He lived in fellowship with God, (10) (SEE 6:9) (11) but everyone else was evil in God's sight, and violence had spread everywhere. (12) God looked at the world and saw that it was evil, for the people were all living evil lives. (13) God said to Noah, "I have decided to put an end to all people. I will destroy them completely, because the world is full of their violent deeds. (14) Build a boat for yourself out of good timber; make rooms in it and cover it with tar inside and out. (15) Make it 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. (16) Make a roof for the boat and leave a space of 18 inches between the roof and the sides. Build it with three decks and put a door in the side. (17) I am going to send a flood on the earth to destroy every living being. Everything on the earth will die, (18) but I will make a covenant with you. Go into the boat with your wife, your sons, and their wives. (19) Take into the boat with you a male and a female of every kind of animal and of every kind of bird, in order to keep them alive. (20) (SEE 6:19) (21) Take along all kinds of food for you and for them." (22) Noah did everything that God commanded.
Genesis 7:1-24 GNB The LORD  ( יהוה ) said to Noah, "Go into the boat with your whole family; I have found that you are the only one in all the world who does what is right. (2) Take with you seven pairs of each kind of ritually clean animal, but only one pair of each kind of unclean animal. (3) Take also seven pairs of each kind of bird. Do this so that every kind of animal and bird will be kept alive to reproduce again on the earth. (4) Seven days from now I am going to send rain that will fall for forty days and nights, in order to destroy all the living beings that I have made." (5) And Noah did everything that the LORD  ( יהוה ) commanded. (6) Noah was six hundred years old when the flood came on the earth. (7) He and his wife, and his sons and their wives, went into the boat to escape the flood. (8) A male and a female of every kind of animal and bird, whether ritually clean or unclean, (9) went into the boat with Noah, as God had commanded. (10) Seven days later the flood came. (11) When Noah was six hundred years old, on the seventeenth day of the second month all the outlets of the vast body of water beneath the earth burst open, all the floodgates of the sky were opened, (12) and rain fell on the earth for forty days and nights. (13) On that same day Noah and his wife went into the boat with their three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and their wives. (14) With them went every kind of animal, domestic and wild, large and small, and every kind of bird. (15) A male and a female of each kind of living being went into the boat with Noah, (16) as God had commanded. Then the LORD  ( יהוה ) shut the door behind Noah. (17) The flood continued for forty days, and the water became deep enough for the boat to float. (18) The water became deeper, and the boat drifted on the surface. (19) It became so deep that it covered the highest mountains; (20) it went on rising until it was about twenty-five feet above the tops of the mountains. (21) Every living being on the earth died---every bird, every animal, and every person. (22) Everything on earth that breathed died. (23) The LORD  ( יהוה ) destroyed all living beings on the earth---human beings, animals, and birds. The only ones left were Noah and those who were with him in the boat. (24) The water did not start going down for a hundred and fifty days.
Genesis 8:1-17 GNB God had not forgotten Noah and all the animals with him in the boat; he caused a wind to blow, and the water started going down. (2) The outlets of the water beneath the earth and the floodgates of the sky were closed. The rain stopped, (3) and the water gradually went down for 150 days. (4) On the seventeenth day of the seventh month the boat came to rest on a mountain in the Ararat range. (5) The water kept going down, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains appeared. (6) After forty days Noah opened a window (7) and sent out a raven. It did not come back, but kept flying around until the water was completely gone. (8) Meanwhile, Noah sent out a dove to see if the water had gone down, (9) but since the water still covered all the land, the dove did not find a place to light. It flew back to the boat, and Noah reached out and took it in. (10) He waited another seven days and sent out the dove again. (11) It returned to him in the evening with a fresh olive leaf in its beak. So Noah knew that the water had gone down. (12) Then he waited another seven days and sent out the dove once more; this time it did not come back. (13) When Noah was 601 years old, on the first day of the first month, the water was gone. Noah removed the covering of the boat, looked around, and saw that the ground was getting dry. (14) By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth was completely dry. (15) God said to Noah, (16) "Go out of the boat with your wife, your sons, and their wives. (17) Take all the birds and animals out with you, so that they may reproduce and spread over all the earth."
