Mark 13:3-8 ALT . . .Then as He sits on the Mount of Olives, opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew began questioning Him privately. (4) "Tell us when these [things] will be? And what [is] the sign when all these [things] shall be about to be fulfilled?" (5) So answering them, Jesus began to say, "Be watching out lest anyone leads you astray [fig., deceives you]. (6) "For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am!'—and they will lead many astray [fig., will deceive many]. (7) "But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, stop being alarmed. For it is necessary [for] these [things] to take place, but the end [is] not yet. (8) "For nation will be raised up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be earthquakes in [various] places, and there will be famines and disturbances [fig., uprisings]. These [are the] beginnings of birth pains [fig., great sufferings].

Mark 13:3-8 CEV . . .Later, as Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives across from the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew came to him in private. (4) They asked, "When will these things happen? What will be the sign that they are about to take place?" (5) Jesus answered: Watch out and don't let anyone fool you! (6) Many will come and claim to be me [or to represent me]. They will use my name and fool many people. (7) When you hear about wars and threats of wars, don't be afraid. These things will have to happen first, but that isn't the end. (8) Nations and kingdoms will go to war against each other. There will be earthquakes in many places, and people will starve to death. But this is just the beginning of troubles.

Mark 13:3-8 GNB . . .Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, across from the Temple, when Peter, James, John, and Andrew came to him in private. (4) "Tell us when this will be," they said, "and tell us what will happen to show that the time has come for all these things to take place." (5) Jesus said to them, "Watch out, and don't let anyone fool you. (6) Many men, claiming to speak for me, will come and say, 'I am he!' and they will fool many people. (7) And don't be troubled when you hear the noise of battles close by and news of battles far away. Such things must happen, but they do not mean that the end has come. (8) Countries will fight each other; kingdoms will attack one another. There will be earthquakes everywhere, and there will be famines. These things are like the first pains of childbirth.

Mark 13:3-8 MKJV . . .And as He sat on the Mount of Olives, across from the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked Him privately, (4) Tell us, When shall all these things be? And what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? (5) And Jesus answering them began to say, Beware that no one deceive you. (6) For many shall come in My name, saying, I AM, and shall deceive many. (7) And when you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled. For it must happen, but the end shall not be yet. (8) For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there shall be earthquakes in different places, and there shall be famines and troubles. These things are the beginnings of sorrows.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
