Matthew 24:15-31 GW "The prophet Daniel said that the disgusting thing that will cause destruction will stand in the holy place. [Dan 8:13; 9:27; 11:31-35; 12:8-12] (The disgusting thing standing in a holy place is false religion as she claims to represent God and/or Christ.) When you see this (let the reader take note), (16) those of you in Judea should flee to the mountains. (You must flee from false religious teachings and to The Mountain of by seeking the teachings by his son Christ Jesus.) (17) Those who are on the roof should not come down to get anything out of their houses. (18) Those who are in the field should not turn back to get their coats. (19) "How horrible it will be for the women who are pregnant or who are nursing babies in those days. (20) Pray that it will not be winter or a day of worship when you flee. (21) There will be a lot of misery [a great tribulation] at that time, a kind of misery that has not happened from the beginning of the world until now and will certainly never happen again. (22) If God does not reduce the number of those days, no one will be saved. But those days will be reduced because of those whom God has chosen. (23) "At that time don't believe anyone who tells you, 'Here is the Messiah!' or 'There he is!' (24) False messiahs and false prophets will appear. They will work spectacular, miraculous signs and do wonderful things to deceive, if possible, even those whom God has chosen. (Some of false religion's miracles are the huge masses of followers they have gathered to adore them and give them legitimacy.) (25) Listen! I've told you this before it happens. (26) So if someone tells you, 'He's in the desert!' don't go out looking for him. And don't believe anyone who says, 'He's in a secret place!' (27) The Son of Man will come again just as lightning flashes from east to west. (28) Vultures will gather wherever there is a dead body. (29) "Immediately after the misery of those days, the sun will turn dark, the moon will not give light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the universe will be shaken. (30) "Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. (The sign of the son of man is comprised of those awakening to their need to listen to Christ and to him alone. They expose all false religion!) All the people on earth will cry in agony when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds in the sky with power and great glory. [Dan. 7:13-14] (31) He will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and from every direction under the sky, they will gather those whom God has chosen.
Matthew 24:15-31 LITV Then when you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (The disgusting thing standing in a holy place is false religion as she claims to represent God and/or Christ.) (the one reading, let him understand), [Dan 8:13; 9:27; 11:31-35; 12:8-12] (16) then let those in Judea flee into the mountains; (You must flee from false religious teachings and to The Mountain of and to the teachings by his son Christ Jesus.) (17) the one on the housetop, let him not go down to take anything out of his house; (18) and the one in the field, let him not turn back to take his garment. (19) But woe to the ones having a child in womb, and to those suckling in those days! (20) And pray that your flight will not occur in winter nor in a sabbath. (21) For there will be great affliction, such as has not happened from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be. (22) And except those days were shortened, not any flesh would be saved. But on account of the elect, those days will be shortened. (23) Then if anyone says to you, Behold, here is the Christ! Or, Here! Do not believe. (24) For false christs and false prophets will rise up. And they will give great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. (Some of false religion's miracles are the huge masses of followers they have gathered to adore them and give them legitimacy.) (25) Behold, I tell you beforehand. (26) Then if they say to you, Behold, He is in the wilderness; do not go out. Behold, He is in the inner rooms; do not believe. (27) For as the lightning comes forth from the east and shines as far as the west, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man. (28) For wherever the dead body may be, there the eagles will be gathered. (29) And immediately after the affliction of those days the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give her light, and the stars will fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. (30) And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the heavens. (The sign of the son of man is comprised of those awakening to their need to listen to Christ and to him alone. They expose all false religion!) And then all the tribes of the land will wail. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and much glory. [Dan. 7:13-14] (31) And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from the ends of the heavens to their ends.
Matthew 24:15-31 YLT `Whenever, therefore, ye may see the abomination of the desolation, that was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (The disgusting thing standing in a holy place is false religion as she claims to represent God and/or Christ.) (whoever is reading let him observe) [Dan 8:13; 9:27; 11:31-35; 12:8-12] (16) then those in Judea--let them flee to the mounts; (You must flee from false religious teachings and to The Mountain of and to the teachings by his son Christ Jesus.) (17) he on the house-top--let him not come down to take up any thing out of his house; (18) and he in the field--let him not turn back to take his garments. (19) `And woe to those with child, and to those giving suck in those days; (20) and pray ye that your flight may not be in winter, nor on a sabbath; (21) for there shall be then great tribulation, such as was not from the beginning of the world till now, no, nor may be. (22) And if those days were not shortened, no flesh would have been saved; but because of the chosen, shall those days be shortened. (23) `Then if any one may say to you, Lo, here is the Christ! or here! ye may not believe; (24) for there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and they shall give great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, also the chosen. (Some of false religion's miracles are the huge masses of followers they have gathered to adore them and give them legitimacy.) (25) Lo, I did tell you beforehand. (26) `If therefore they may say to you, Lo, in the wilderness he is, ye may not go forth; lo, in the inner chambers, ye may not believe; (27) for as the lightning doth come forth from the east, and doth appear unto the west, so shall be also the presence of the Son of Man; (28) for wherever the carcase may be, there shall the eagles be gathered together. (29) `And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken; (30) and then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in the heaven; (The sign of the son of man is comprised of those awakening to their need to listen to Christ and to him alone. They expose all false religion!) and then shall all the tribes of the earth smite the breast, and they shall see the Son of Man coming upon the clouds of the heaven, with power and much glory; [Dan. 7:13-14] (31) and he shall send his messengers with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his chosen from the four winds, from the ends of the heavens unto the ends thereof.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals. The Translations we quote are:
