Matthew 24:3-8 GNB ...As Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him in private. "Tell us when all this will be," they asked, "and what will happen to show that it is the time for your coming and the end of the age." (4) Jesus answered, "Watch out, and do not let anyone fool you. (5) Many men, claiming to speak for me, will come and say, 'I am the Messiah!' and they will fool many people. (6) You are going to hear the noise of battles close by and the news of battles far away; but do not be troubled. Such things must happen, but they do not mean that the end has come. (7) Countries will fight each other; kingdoms will attack one another. There will be famines and earthquakes everywhere. (8) All these things are like the first pains of childbirth. • These verses designate between the lesser tribulation or beginning of labor pains which started in 607 BCE, caused by the destruction of God's earthly Temple thus temporarily ending his human Kingdom over the earth. That early tribulation, or "the beginning of childbirth pains" [as Jesus referred to them there in Mat 24:8] is different from the "Great Tribulation" [or final part of the tribulation] (Mat 24:21-22) which "Great Tribulation" started in 1914 with WWI, and which is also the year Jesus was enthroned in the heavens as eternal king (Luke 1:30-33) over the earth. (1 Cor 15:12-28) The Tribulation/Armageddon we now witness is the installation of God's Kingdom on the earth. (Rev 21:1-4; Dan 2:44; Dan 8:23-26) •

(4) And Jesus answered them, "See that no one leads you astray. (5) For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will lead many astray. (6) And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. (7) For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. (8) All these are but the beginning of the birth pains. What will be the sign that you are coming again, and when will the world come to an end?" (4) Jesus answered them, "Be careful not to let anyone deceive you. (5) Many will come using my name. They will say, 'I am the Messiah,' and they will deceive many people. (6) "You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Don't be alarmed! These things must happen, but they don't mean that the end has come. (7) Nation will fight against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. (8) All of these are only the beginning pains of the end. (See: Mat 24:21-22)

Matthew 24:3-8 NWT ...While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?” 4 And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU; 5 for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6 YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.
