Matthew 3:13-17 NWT
13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, in order to be baptized by him. 14 But the latter tried to prevent him, saying: "I am the one needing to be baptized by you, and are you coming to me?" 15 In reply Jesus said to him: "Let it be, this time, for in that way it is suitable for us to carry out all that is righteous." Then he quit preventing him. 16 After being baptized Jesus immediately came up from the water; and, look! the heavens were opened up, and he saw descending like a dove God's spirit coming upon him. 17 Look! Also, there was a voice from the heavens that said: "This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.

Matthew 3:13-17 GNB
(13) At that time Jesus arrived from Galilee and came to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. (14) But John tried to make him change his mind. (16) As soon as Jesus was baptized, he came up out of the water. Then heaven was opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God coming down like a dove and lighting on him. (17) Then a voice said from heaven, "This is my own dear Son, with whom I am pleased."

Matthew 3:13-17 BBE
(13) Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan, to be given baptism by him. (14) But John would have kept him back, saying, It is I who have need of baptism from you, and do you come to me? (15) But Jesus made answer, saying to him, Let it be so now: because so it is right for us to make righteousness complete. Then he gave him baptism. (16) And Jesus, having been given baptism, straight away went up from the water; and, the heavens opening, he saw the Spirit of God coming down on him as a dove; (17) And a voice came out of heaven, saying, This is my dearly loved Son, with whom I am well pleased.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
The Translations we quote are:

ALT - Analytical Literal Translation

ASV - American Standard Version (by the American revision committee in 1897).

KJV - King James Version

MKJV - Modern King James Version
