Revelation 17:9-11 CEV . . .Anyone with wisdom can figure this out. The seven heads that the woman is sitting on stand for seven hills. These heads are also seven kings. (10) Five of the kings are dead. [Egypt, Assyria, Medo-Persia, Greece] One is ruling now, [Rome] and the other one has not yet come. [England-America] But when he does, he will rule for only a little while. (11) You also saw a beast that used to be and no longer is. That beast is one of the seven kings who will return as the eighth king, but only to be destroyed.

Revelation 17:9-11 GNB . . ."This calls for wisdom and understanding. The seven heads are seven hills, on which the woman sits. They are also seven kings: (10) five of them have fallen, [Egypt, Assyria, Medo-Persia, Greece] one still rules, [Rome] and the other one has not yet come; [England-America] when he comes, he must rule only a little while. (11) And the beast that was once alive, but lives no longer, is itself an eighth king who is one of the seven and is going off to be destroyed.

Revelation 17:9-11 ESV . . .This calls for a mind with wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated; (10) they are also seven kings, five of whom have fallen, [Egypt, Assyria, Medo-Persia, Greece] one is, [Rome] the other has not yet come, [England-America] and when he does come he must remain only a little while. (11) As for the beast that was and is not, it is an eighth but it belongs to the seven, and it goes to destruction.

Revelation 17:9-11 GW . . ."In this situation a wise mind is needed. The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is sitting. (10) They are also seven kings. Five of them have fallen, [Egypt, Assyria, Medo-Persia, Greece] one is ruling now, [Rome] and the other has not yet come. [England-America] When he comes, he must remain for a little while. (11) The beast that was and is no longer is the eighth king. It belongs with the seven kings and goes to its destruction.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
