Romans 1:18 NWT . . .For God’s wrath is being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who are suppressing the truth in an unrighteous way,

Romans 1:18 ALT . . .For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven upon all impiety [or, ungodliness] and unrighteousness of people, [upon] the ones suppressing the truth in unrighteousness.

Please guard your heart; those around us suppress truth in many ways. Some are obvious as they speak about Christ and/or our hope in him disparagingly. (2 Pet 3:3-7) But more often, and more dangerous, are those who replace Jesus's teachings with lies. Asserting they are wise, (Rom 1:18-32) they establish doctrines and rules of conduct, following and glorifying their own doctrine (John 5:39-44) instead of simply directing people to read the words of Jesus for themselves. (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) Satan has raised up a whole nest (Mat 3:7-12) of churches and religious sects to mislead people by their created doctrines. (Mat 15:3-9; John 5:41-44) You must be careful you are not misleading others by being caught up in one of them. For Christians, Christ is their only leader and his teachings their only doctrine... (Mat 23:1-15)

Romans 1:18 Calvin 1856 . . .Revealed also is the wrath of God from heaven, against all the impiety and injustice of men, who unjustly suppress the truth of God;

Romans 1:18 GNB . . .God's anger is revealed from heaven against all the sin and evil of the people whose evil ways prevent the truth from being known.

Romans 1:18 CEV . . .From heaven God shows how angry he is with all the wicked and evil things that sinful people do to crush the truth.
