Revelation 21:10-22:2 CEV . . .Then with the help of the Spirit, he [the angel] took me to the top of a very high mountain. There he showed me the holy city of [New] Jerusalem coming down from God in heaven. (11) The glory of God made the city bright. It was dazzling and crystal clear like a precious jasper stone. (12) The city had a high and thick wall with twelve gates, and each one of them was guarded by an angel. On each of the gates was written the name of one of the twelve tribes of Israel. (Gal 3:26-29) (13) Three of these gates were on the east, three were on the north, three more were on the south, and the other three were on the west. (14) The city was built on twelve foundation stones. On each of the stones was written the name of one of the Lamb's twelve apostles. (15) The angel who spoke to me had a gold measuring stick to measure the city and its gates and its walls.

Revelation's description of the New Jerusalem is probably not literal. [If it is, the city will be about a 1600 mile cube. That would cover nearly 1/2 of the U.S. east to west and a large portion of it north to south.] It seems a spiritual symbolic representation of God's Kingdom by Christ in the earth; that kingdom developed and built by and among faithful men and women who lived over the 6000 year period since Adam. The twelve tribes of the Jewish Nation were used early on to enlighten and teach mankind, (Rom 3:1-6; Gal 3:19-29) with Christ and his apostles serving to complete or fulfill Judaism; and to bring in something far better, including eternal peace. (Heb 7:18-19; 1 Pet 1:3; Heb 8:6-7)
(16) The city was shaped like a cube, because it was just as high as it was wide. When the angel measured the city, it was about fifteen hundred miles high and fifteen hundred miles wide. (17) Then the angel measured the wall, and by our measurements it was about two hundred sixteen feet high. (18) The wall was built of jasper, and the city was made of pure gold, clear as crystal. (19) Each of the twelve foundations was a precious stone. The first was jasper, the second was sapphire, the third was agate, the fourth was emerald, (20) the fifth was onyx, the sixth was carnelian, the seventh was chrysolite, the eighth was beryl, the ninth was topaz, the tenth was chrysoprase, the eleventh was jacinth, and the twelfth was amethyst. (21) Each of the twelve gates was a solid pearl. The streets of the city were made of pure gold, clear as crystal. (22) I did not see a temple there. The Lord God All-Powerful and the Lamb were its temple. (23) And the city did not need the sun or the moon. The glory of God was shining on it, and the Lamb was its light. (24) Nations will walk by the light of that city, and kings will bring their riches there. (25) Its gates are always open during the day, and night never comes. (26) The glorious treasures of nations will be brought into the city. (27) But nothing unworthy will be allowed to enter. No one who is dirty-minded or who tells lies will be there. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life will be in the city.
Revelation 22:1-2 CEV The angel showed me a river that was crystal clear, and its waters gave life. The river came from the throne where God and the Lamb were seated. (2) Then it flowed down the middle of the city's main street. On each side of the river are trees that grow a different kind of fruit each month of the year. The fruit gives life, and the leaves are used as medicine to heal the nations.

Revelation 21:10-22:2 GNB . . .The Spirit took control of me, and the angel carried me to the top of a very high mountain. He showed me [New] Jerusalem, the Holy City, coming down out of heaven from God (11) and shining with the glory of God. The city shone like a precious stone, like a jasper, clear as crystal. (12) It had a great, high wall with twelve gates and with twelve angels in charge of the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of the people of Israel. (Gal 3:26-29) (13) There were three gates on each side: three on the east, three on the south, three on the north, and three on the west. (14) The city's wall was built on twelve foundation stones, on which were written the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. (15) The angel who spoke to me had a gold measuring stick to measure the city, its gates, and its wall. (16) The city was perfectly square, as wide as it was long. The angel measured the city with his measuring stick: it was fifteen hundred miles long and was as wide and as high as it was long. (17) The angel also measured the wall, and it was 216 feet high, according to the standard unit of measure which he was using. (18) The wall was made of jasper, and the city itself was made of pure gold, as clear as glass. (19) The foundation stones of the city wall were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation stone was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, (20) the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh yellow quartz, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chalcedony, the eleventh turquoise, the twelfth amethyst. (21) The twelve gates were twelve pearls; each gate was made from a single pearl. The street of the city was of pure gold, transparent as glass. (22) I did not see a temple in the city, because its temple is the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb. (23) The city has no need of the sun or the moon to shine on it, because the glory of God shines on it, and the Lamb is its lamp. (24) The peoples of the world will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their wealth into it. (25) The gates of the city will stand open all day; they will never be closed, because there will be no night there. (26) The greatness and the wealth of the nations will be brought into the city. (27) But nothing that is impure will enter the city, nor anyone who does shameful things or tells lies. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of the living will enter the city.
Revelation 22:1-2 GNB The angel also showed me the river of the water of life, sparkling like crystal, and coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb (2) and flowing down the middle of the city's street. On each side of the river was the tree of life, which bears fruit twelve times a year, once each month; and its leaves are for the healing of the nations.

Revelation 21:10-22:2 ESV . . .And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, (11) having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. (12) It had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed-- (Gal 3:26-29) (13) on the east three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on the west three gates. (14) And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. (15) And the one who spoke with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city and its gates and walls. (16) The city lies foursquare, its length the same as its width. And he measured the city with his rod, 12,000 stadia. Its length and width and height are equal. (17) He also measured its wall, 144 cubits by human measurement, which is also an angel's measurement. (18) The wall was built of jasper, while the city was pure gold, clear as glass. (19) The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of jewel. The first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, (20) the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst. (21) And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, transparent as glass. (22) And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. (23) And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. (24) By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it, (25) and its gates will never be shut by day--and there will be no night there. (26) They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations. (27) But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.
Revelation 22:1-2 ESV Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb (2) through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
