••• You should recognize and know "and use" God's Hebrew Name! It is יהוה and sounds like to English speakers... God Himself wrote with his own finger on stone tablets He then gave to Moses. (Exo 31:18) Using the Diving Name of our Creator is a uniting force in this divided world! •••

Zephaniah 2:1-7 MWT . . .Gather together, yes, gather, O shameless nation, (2) before the decree takes effect --before the day passes away like chaff-- before there comes upon you the burning anger of יהוה, before there comes upon you the day of the anger of יהוה. Seek יהוה, all you humble of the land, (3) who do his just commands; seek righteousness; seek humility; perhaps you may be concealed on the day of the anger of יהוה. For Gaza shall be destroyed, (4) and Ashkelon shall become a desolation; Ashdod's people shall be driven out at noon, and Ekron shall be uprooted. (5) Woe to you inhabitants of the seacoast, you nation of the Cherethites! The word of יהוה is against you, O Canaan, the land of the Philistines; and I will destroy you until no inhabitant is left. (6) And you, O seacoast, shall be pastures, with meadows for shepherds and folds for flocks. (7) The seacoast shall become the possession of the remnant of the house of Judah, [Do you know who the children of Judah are? (Gal 3:26-29)] on which they shall graze, and in the houses of Ashkelon they shall lie down at evening. For יהוה their God will be mindful of them and restore their fortunes.

Zephaniah 2:1-7 BBE . . .Come together, make everyone come together, O nation without shame; (2) Before the Lord  (יהוה) sends you violently away in flight like the waste from the grain; before the burning wrath of the Lord  (יהוה) comes on you, before the day of the Lord's  (יהוה) wrath comes on you. (3) Make search for the Lord, all you quiet ones of the earth, who have done what is right in his eyes; make search for righteousness and a quiet heart: it may be that you will be safely covered in the day of the Lord's  (יהוה) wrath. (4) For Gaza will be given up and Ashkelon will become waste: they will send Ashdod out in the middle of the day, and Ekron will be uprooted. (5) Sorrow to the people living by the sea, the nation of the Cherethites! The word of the Lord  (יהוה) is against you, O Canaan, the land of the Philistines; I will send destruction on you till there is no one living in you. (6) And the land by the sea will be grass-land, with houses for keepers of sheep and walled places for flocks. (7) The land by the sea will be for the rest of the children of Judah; [Do you know who the children of Judah are? (Gal 3:26-29)] by the sea they will give their flocks food: in the houses of Ashkelon they will take their rest in the evening; for the Lord  (יהוה) their God will take them in hand and their fate will be changed.

Zephaniah 2:1-7 GNB . . .Shameless nation, come to your senses (2) before you are driven away like chaff blown by the wind, before the burning anger of the LORD  (יהוה) comes upon you, before the day when he shows his fury. (3) Turn to the LORD  (יהוה), all you humble people of the land, who obey his commands. Do what is right, and humble yourselves before the LORD  (יהוה). Perhaps you will escape punishment on the day when the LORD shows his anger. (4) No one will be left in the city of Gaza. Ashkelon will be deserted. The people of Ashdod will be driven out in half a day, and the people of Ekron will be driven from their city. (5) You Philistines are doomed, you people who live along the coast. The LORD  (יהוה) has passed sentence on you. He will destroy you, and not one of you will be left. (6) Your land by the sea will become open fields with shepherd's huts and sheep pens. (7) The people of Judah [Do you know who the children of Judah are? (Gal 3:26-29)] who survive will occupy your land. They will pasture their flocks there and sleep in the houses of Ashkelon. The LORD  (יהוה) their God will be with them and make them prosper again.

Zephaniah 2:1-7 NWT . . .Gather yourselves together, yes, do the gathering, O nation not paling in shame. 2 Before [the] statute gives birth to [anything], [before the] day has passed by just like chaff, before there comes upon YOU people the burning anger of Jehovah  (יהוה), before there comes upon YOU the day of Jehovah's  (יהוה) anger, 3 seek Jehovah  (יהוה), all YOU meek ones of the earth, who have practiced His own judicial decision. Seek righteousness, seek meekness. Probably YOU may be concealed in the day of Jehovah's  (יהוה) anger. 4 For, as regards Ga´za, an abandoned [city] is what she will become; and Ash´ke·lon is to be a desolate waste. As regards Ash´dod, at high noon they will drive her out; and as regards Ek´ron, she will be uprooted. 5 “Woe to those inhabiting the region of the sea, the nation of Cher´e·thites! The word of Jehovah  (יהוה) is against YOU people. O Canaan, the land of the Phi·lis´tines, I will also destroy you, so that there will be no inhabitant. 6 And the region of the sea must become pasture grounds, [with] wells for shepherds and stone pens for sheep. 7 And it must become a region for the remaining ones of the house of Judah. [Do you know who the children of Judah are? (Gal 3:26-29)] Upon them they will feed. In the houses of Ash´ke·lon, in the evening, they will lie stretched out. For Jehovah  (יהוה) their God will turn his attention to them and certainly gather back the captive ones of them.”

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
