--- Ten Days of Jesus's Death! ---
The religious celebrations surrounding
Jesus's death and Resurrection.
April 2nd is the observed Passover for 2026.

Written: March 2026

You might want to read these verses every year at the same time Jesus lived them! We know Jesus died on the Jewish Passover but transferring that date onto our modern calendar is complicated. If you want to avoid the confusion, just read the scriptures on the dates listed here, or on some that are close by. The important thing is to remember and celebrate the sacrifice and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

If you are a Jew living by the Jewish calendar, they surround the Jewish Passover celebration commanded by God, which commemorated the Passover of the houses of the Jews who had the blood of the Passover lamb on their doorpost. The blood of the lamb caused them to be passed over by the Angel of יהוה killing all the firstborn among the Egyptians. [God had tried and tried to convince the Egyptians to let his nation go, before He was forced to use this extreme measure.] Going forward, God instructed the Jews to celebrate the Passover starting the 14 day of the month of Nisan, the first month of Nisan starting with the first new moon in the spring of the year. (Psa 104:19; Exo 13:4; Deu 16:1; Exo 12:2-12; 6-23:5; Num 9:23) If, like most of the world, your calendar is Gregorian. If you are Christian, you still appreciate the Passover as it corresponds with the sacrificial shedding of the blood of our our Passover lamb, Jesus Christ. It can be a bit complicated to transfer these last days in Jesus life onto our Gregorian calendar so we know the day that is the date of Jesus's last Passover before his resurrection. [To my knowledge, it is impossible to know the exact date of Jesus's resurrection on our modern calendar. This is an approximation and within a day or two...] The Bible verses below, then, recount the last ten days of Jesus's Christ's life as they translate from the last days he lived onto the our Gregorian calendar in year 2026. This reflects the last days leading to the death and resurrection of the perfect man Jesus. God's Son, as an unblemished lamb, came to give his life a ransom in exchange for those who would listen to his Father's only later day command, (Mat 17:5) and so, follow Jesus... (Mat 20:28)

For 2026, then.
March 27 or Nisan 7+...

Nisan 7 having begun at the previous sunset; then, Nisan 8 begins at sunset on March 27.

John 11:51-12:1 ~ The Jews make plans to kill Jesus. He travels back to Bethany, six days before his final Passover and death. Bethany was a village about 2 miles from Jerusalem. As Capernaum might be thought of as Jesus's home in Galilee, Bethany was his home in Judea. Martha and Mary and their brother Lazarus lived there.
You can see transferring dates
can be a bit confusing.
Moving forward, as we transfer Jewish Bible events from the Jewish Calendar date they happened, to our Gregorian calendar dates, the portion of the months used [from March or April] will be understood to represent the first half of Jewish month [Nisan], and the specific dates given in March and April will represent only the first half of the corresponding Jewish date given. That is necessary because sunset on the Gregorian calendar date represents the start of a new day on the Jewish calendar, their dates and days being sunset to sunset, as different from our sunrise to sunrise days... While it seems inaccurate not to declare that, don't pay it much mind. The simple effort here is to lay the last few days of Jesus life, leading to his death and resurrection, onto the corresponding days in our day in time: To know each day what happened to Jesus some 2000 years ago today! So, "Nisan 7+" simply means the last half of Nisan 7 plus the first half of Nisan 8 starting at sundown...
